Stephania suberosa An unusual caudiciform from Southeast Asia with a rough round caudex and long vines. The leaves are heart shaped and peltate (the leaf stalk appears in the middle of the leaf not the base). The leaves and vines are fine in full sun, but the caudex could get sunburn in harsh summer sun. As it comes from tropical Asia it prefers to be kept at 50 degrees or more year round. It may go dormant if kept in overly dry or overly cool conditions.
These are seed grown, nursery produced plants! Almost every Stephania for sale has been, and still is wild collected (poached). Seed produced plants are still very rare and I'm lucky enough to have a friend in Thailand that has started growing them. So yes, you can probably find bigger plants for sale at or below my price, but they are dug from the wild, usually stolen from National Parks. My offering is for a buyer who can appreciate the importance of growing nursery produced plants and understands that it costs more to achieve that at this point in time.
