Kedrostis africana Family: Curcurbitaceae. An attractive caudiciform vine with dissected leaves. The caudex is a combination of the taproot and the base of the stem. The caudex grows larger faster when the root portion is below the soil. Many growers keep the root buried for several years then raise it once the plant starts to mature. But it will form a caudex if the root is raised early, just slower. Vines can be trimmed to shape or allowed to scramble around. Likes lots of light and regular watering during the growing season. Protect from frost.
You will receive a plant shown in in image 6 or one similar. It is shown growing in a 4" pot. Last image shows a mature plant.
Important Shipping Information
- PLANTS ARE SHIPPED BARE ROOT If you want me to send them in pots send me a message to discuss. Extra charges due to increased shipping costs will apply.
- Immediate Payment (eBay only) Sorry! I can no longer offer a delayed purchase option as the multichannel inventory management system I have started using requires this setting.
- No Delayed Shipping (eBay only) Once you pay I have to (and WILL) ship within 3 business days or eBay will lower my seller rating. I used to have a way to delay shipping but can no longer do this for the same reason as #2 above. Feel free to message me before buying to see if we can figure something out here, no promises though.
- Winter Shipping If you live in a cold climate consider including a 96 hour heat pack in your order during the cold months. I have them as a listing. Just add it to your order. If you don’t see them just message me.
Thank you!
