Haworthia retusa 'Desert Iron' Family: Xanthorrhoeaceae. An attractive hybrid with a rusty orange-brown color (hence the name!) in good light. Plants flower off and on all year round. Easy to grow. Haworthias are more shade tolerant than most succulents, but still needs good light. Grows year round so don't let it stay too dry unless your winter growing situation isn't that great. Protect from frost.
I believe this to be a H. retusa hybrid, likely a cross with H. mirabilis however when I got it the only name I had was Desert Iron. I don't have details on the history of this cross but it seems to be pretty rare. It is a beautiful plant with a rich orange-brown color that deserves more recognition!
You will receive plant shown in the last image. It is shown growing in a 4" pot. Both are forming at least one pup each.
Important Shipping Information
- PLANTS ARE SHIPPED BARE ROOT If you want me to send them in pots send me a message to discuss. Extra charges due to increased shipping costs will apply.
- Immediate Payment (eBay only) Sorry! I can no longer offer a delayed purchase option as the multichannel inventory management system I have started using requires this setting.
- No Delayed Shipping (eBay only) Once you pay I have to (and WILL) ship within 3 business days or eBay will lower my seller rating. I used to have a way to delay shipping but can no longer do this for the same reason as #2 above. Feel free to message me before buying to see if we can figure something out here, no promises though.
- Winter Shipping If you live in a cold climate consider including a 96 hour heat pack in your order during the cold months. I have them as a listing. Just add it to your order. If you don’t see them just message me.
