Fouquieria macdougalii Family: Fouquieriaceae. This is an unusual and distinctive species that forms a caudex. Makes a great specimen plant in ground in mild climates or a good bonsai like succulent for pots. Loses its leaves if it goes dry and regrows them when watered again. Likes bright light. Water regularly when actively growing. Protect from frost.
