Deuterocohnia brevifolia  Also known as Abromeitiella brevifolia this is a cute miniature Bromeliad. Individual heads are usually only an inch or so across, but over time this plant just keeps clumping, and clumping, and clumping! After several years you will have a truly unique mass of a plant that have 100 heads or more. Very old well grown plants likely have over 1000 heads!

Care is similar to succulents rather than typical epiphytic Bromeliads. Grow in well draining cactus mix, water when the soil is dry, and give lots of light. Protect from frost. Unlike most Bromeliads, this species gets water from the roots not the pitchers. So proper soil watering is important, but don't overwater.

You will receive the plant shown in the first two images.  Plant shown in a 3.5" pot. Last image shows a more mature plant.

Important Shipping Information

  1. PLANTS ARE SHIPPED BARE ROOT If you want me to send them in pots send me a message to discuss. Extra charges due to increased shipping costs will apply.
  2. Immediate Payment (eBay only) Sorry! I can no longer offer a delayed purchase option as the multichannel inventory management system I have started using requires this setting.
  3. No Delayed Shipping (eBay only) Once you pay I have to (and WILL) ship within 3 business days or eBay will lower my seller rating. I used to have a way to delay shipping but can no longer do this for the same reason as #2 above. Feel free to message me before buying to see if we can figure something out here, no promises though.
  4. Winter Shipping If you live in a cold climate consider including a 96 hour heat pack in your order during the cold months. I have them as a listing. Just add it to your order. If you don’t see them just message me.

Thank you!
