Calibanus hookeri Family: Agavaceae. An strange caudiciform plant from Mexico. It is essentially a big tuft of grass growing from a woody caudex. The leaves are rough textured and bluish in color, especially as the plant matures. The larger the caudex gets the more individual tufts will form. Large, mature plants can have a caudex two feet or more in diameter with a hundred or more tufts of leaves. That takes many, many years and can be kept smaller if grown as a potted plant. Easy to grow. Water regularly (for a succulent) in the warmer months and keep fairly dry in the winter. Hardy to 15F.
This is a big plant with a 5" caudex.
You will receive the plant shown in the images. Plant shown in a 8" pot.
Important Shipping Information
- PLANTS ARE SHIPPED BARE ROOT If you want me to send them in pots send me a message to discuss. Extra charges due to increased shipping costs will apply.
- Immediate Payment (eBay only) Sorry! I can no longer offer a delayed purchase option as the multichannel inventory management system I have started using requires this setting.
- No Delayed Shipping (eBay only) Once you pay I have to (and WILL) ship within 3 business days or eBay will lower my seller rating. I used to have a way to delay shipping but can no longer do this for the same reason as #2 above. Feel free to message me before buying to see if we can figure something out here, no promises though.
- Winter Shipping If you live in a cold climate consider including a 96 hour heat pack in your order during the cold months. I have them as a listing. Just add it to your order. If you don’t see them just message me.
Thank you!
