Avonia vespertina An unusual and attractive miniature caudiciform from Somalia. That is interesting because all the other species of Avonia are from Southern Africa, thousands of miles away from this one. The base of the plant is light brown with shiny bark. On top are numerous silver blue to green stems with scale like leaves. Yellow flowers appear at the tips of these leafy stems!  These flowers open in the late afternoon or evening. Easy to grow. Give normal succulent care but don't expose it to excessive cold. Is more shade tolerant than most succulents (though it still needs good light).
