Albuca spiralis Family: Asparagaceae. A truly unusual and rare succulent bulb. The leaves smooth, flat, and most notably spiraled into a curly-Q. Flowers are yellow and produced in the spring. Easy to grow.
This is a winter grower so water regularly (in succulent terms) from fall until spring, then cut back in the summer. Depending on your conditions it may drop its leaves in the summer or it may keep them. If it loses its leaves then keep the plant dry until the fall when it starts growing again. You can resume regular watering at that time. Protect from frost.
