Gymnocalycium pflanzii v. marquezii An attractive species with nicely curved spines. It is notable in turning a beautiful reddish to purple color during the cooler months or under times of stress. The color of the plants also depends a lot on light with higher light giving more purple.
Easy to grow, just give normal succulent care of good light and careful watering. Protect from frost.
